Pulpit 1 -
The Triune God - Many
of us have encountered cults like the Jehovah Witnesses, and Mormons
whose idea of God is very different from orthodox Christianity.
Their false ideas stem basically from their concept of who Jesus and
the Holy Spirit are.
Pulpit 2 - The Voice of God -
There are many voices in the world
today – all clamoring to be heard. The voice of philosophy,
psychology, science, education, medicine, religion, etc...
However the most important voice to ever be heard is that of the
living God.
Pulpit 3 - Hearing God -
“If God speaks, and he does,
do I hear Him?” There are basically three voices that speak
to us.
Pulpit 4 - The Giving God -
If that new boat will
cause you to have lustful desires, then God isn’t
promising that you will have it.
Pulpit
5 - Wholeness -
The Greek word (primary root) translated
salvation is “sozo” (sode - zo) which means, to save,
to heal, to preserve, or to make whole. Jesus gave His
life to make us WHOLE.
Pulpit
6 - Wholeness # 2 -
Jesus’ desire is that all His believers
would be walking in wholeness. That we would be people
of a: Single heart, a single mind and a single
will.
Pulpit
7 - Agents against wholeness - Loneliness
- Loneliness is a
desperate feeling. It eats at your insides and bores a
hole through your heart. It makes you tired, but keeps
you awake. It robs you of happiness and joy. It makes
you hopeless, like you’ll never get up again. But there
is a cure.
Pulpit
8 - Temptation -
In order to
address temptation we must have a good understanding of
what it is. Herein lies a problem because of our
understanding of the word. Whether in the Hebrew or in
the Greek, the same word is used to express both TESTING
and TEMPTING.
